Who Am I?

Hello Lovely People!

I would love to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I am a young man who is deeply passionate about music. I was raised in the projects in the South Bronx and I am who I am today mostly because of my father.

My father, who I have a very strong relationship with, is a musician and I admire him. He is an excellent role model and he has taught me a great deal about life. Amongst the many skills I’ve had the fortune of acquiring from him, the most important is establishing an awareness of my environment in all aspects— from being considerate of the people around me to assessing danger and planning accordingly.

Given that background and the dangers of the neighborhood I grew up in, my father pushed me academically. I earned my way into a program named A Better Chance, which gave me an opportunity to attend highschool outside of the city. New Canaan, Connecticut was very different from the Bronx.

My relationship with music was really developed during these years. That being said, my relationship with music is different than most. I dedicated, as I do today, a lot of time to expressing myself through my guitar. To me, it has never been about technical ability. In fact, it has always been about allowing myself to be myself. It has been about conveying my emotion in every moment and that’s why no performance is the same. Music allows me to communicate and connect with others in a way that, I feel, is beyond powerful. My technical ability as a guitarist is not something I am particularly concerned with, but many seem to enjoy hearing me play. So I play for people.

I am belligerently inspired by music and the people around me. As a man, I have an unbreakable mentality. I am incredibly focused and dedicated to forward movement. Everyday, I wake up stronger than the day before. I look forward to an active, exciting life.
